How to reset the BIOS password.

IMPORTANT:
- Increasing processor clock speed may shorten life expectancy of processor.
- Increasing processor clock speed may increase potential of errors while utilizing software on system.
- Increasing processor clock speed may cause serious damage Motherboard.
Sony does not recommend or support increasing processor clock speed.
- Turn off and unplug the computer before opening the panel.
NOTE: A ground will be needed before touching the jumpers. This can be accomplished either by touching the metal chassis of the computer or wearing an anti-static grounding strap .
- Locate Jumper block J8B2, it is located in the bottom-right of the motherboard [FIG.1].
- Move the jumper from its normal position (1-2) to its configure position (2-3).
- Once the jumper is moved, the computer panel will need to be put back on and the computer powered on.
- After POST, the BIOS Setup screen will appear with an additional menu heading called Maintenance [FIG.2]. This is the first menu heading and will be the default screen.There are two options on this screen. The first is Processor Clock Speed and the second is Clear All Passwords.
- Press the DOWN ARROW once until Clear All Password [FIG.3] is highlighted and then press the ENTER key.
- A small window will appear called Setup Confirmation, and a prompt to clear all passwords now [FIG.4]. The default selection is Yes. Make sure Yes is highlighted and press ENTER.
- Press the F10 key to save changes and exit.
- Another Setup Confirmation screen will appear that prompts to save and exit. Yes is the default option. Press ENTER to save and exit.
- A black screen will appear stating [FIG.5] the following. Shut the system down again.
- Unplug the computer and open the side panel.
NOTE: A ground will be needed before touching the jumpers. This can be accomplished either by touching the metal chassis of the computer or wearing an anti-static grounding strap.
- Return the jumper to the original setting, by moving the jumper from its position (2-3) to the normal position (1-2).
- Re-attach the side panel and power cable.
