The Sony Group is providing additional support to humanitarian relief efforts to assist the affected population in Ukraine and in neighboring countries.
As announced on March 2, Sony Group Corporation donated a total of 2 million U.S. dollars to the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency and the international NGO, Save the Children, and has collected employee donations at Sony Group companies around the world. Following the participation of many employees, the total amount of employee donations has reached approximately 830,000 U.S. dollars as of March 31. In addition to the matching donations from Sony Group companies to the employee contributions, the Sony Group will provide further corporate contributions to the relevant international organizations and NGOs to support the humanitarian relief effort in Ukraine and the surrounding regions. Together with the previously announced 2 million U.S. dollars and employee contributions, the total donation from the Sony Group will amount to 5 million U.S. dollars.
Additional support activities are being carried out across the Sony Group, such as product donations and contributions to relief organizations. In Europe, employees have been making in-kind donations at evacuation centers and volunteering their time to support refugees.
The Sony Group will continue to collaborate closely with partner organizations to explore mid- to long-term support for those affected by this global humanitarian crisis. We sincerely hope that the current situation will be resolved quickly, and that peace will be restored in Ukraine and around the world.
