Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)
Today, on Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we will share a message about accessibility from Kenichiro Yoshida, CEO, Sony Group Corporation.
Message from Kenichiro Yoshida

Global Accessibility Awareness Day is a day to discuss, think and learn about accessibility and inclusion for those who need it.
Sony's Purpose is to "fill the world with emotion, through the power of creativity and technology." In this "world" mentioned in the Purpose, it is said that one in seven people, more than one billion people, have some kind of disability. In order to realize an inclusive world where everyone can share Kando (emotion), the Sony Group is conducting activities to improve accessibility across its diverse businesses.
For example, in the Game & Network Services business, PlayStation® strives to create a gaming experience that everyone can enjoy. It is continuously evolving to enhance product accessibility, such as recently adding more languages to the console's screen reader feature.
In the Entertainment, Technology & Services business, we implemented a year-long inclusive design program across the organization, in which users and employees with various disabilities formed a team to discuss product development from the concept stage and we are considering leveraging ideas born out of this creative collaboration into our products.
An example of collaboration with our partners is the integration of the fully wireless headphones, LinkBuds with Microsoft Soundscape. We are supporting the movement of all people, including those with visual impairments, while also enriching the time spent moving from one place to another.
As a company with a corporate direction of "getting closer to people", we will pursue accessibility that stays close to people as much as possible, and will continue to work with Sony Group employees and partners to create a world where every single person can share Kando (emotion).
