Reproduce realistic remote space in front of your eyes3D high image quality and low latency transmission technology
<Overview>
Realizing 3R for a new normal world
In the new normal society, it is assumed that remote areas will require the same or more advanced lifestyles than before. To realize such a new world and lifestyle, we believe that reality, real-time and remote will become more important key points and technologies such as high quality 3D display, low latency transmission and real-time rendering are required in the area of devices, systems and signal processing. This technology realizes the next generation remote communication and remote operation with Sony's proprietary 3D high image quality and low latency transmission technology.

<Future direction>
Potential use cases include medical, financial and consulting telecommunications, and other use cases that take advantage of life-size telepresence. The remote operation technology can be applied to remote operation of construction machines and automotives etc. and remote surgery. As one of telepresence, Sony Bank Inc. has already introduced a 2D telepresence system in its financial consulting business and will use this technology to enhance its service with a remote location but with reality.
Additionally, these technologies can also be utilized by creators in the entertainment field. In the future, we aim to realize a larger spatial reproduction with a larger screen light field display, to realize a lower latency and to expand the applications.
Sony Store Osaka uses Sony's state-of-the-art telepresence system "Window" installed in a dedicated room in Osaka to consult remotely with a dedicated advisor.
