I am incredibly pleased and honored to receive this prestigious award.
HDR technology, which came into practical use for about a decade, combined with high-resolution technologies such as 4K/8K and wide color gamut technologies, is a technology that significantly accelerates the evolution of the visual experience. For many years, I have been working on the evolution of the visual experience, with a focus on television displays, to empower the creativity of more creators and bring greater excitement to as many people as possible by enhancing the visual expression brought about by various technological advances. To this end, we have been striving to build an environment for the entire content ecosystem, with displays at its core. This is because I believe that in order to deliver greater excitement to viewers, it is essential to have displays with a high level of expressive power to accurately replicate the sense of excitement. At the same time, however, it depends on the content whether the visual expressiveness of the display can be fully exploited or not.
I believe this award is in recognition of the work we have done to deliver an enhanced content experience through the open use of HDR technology, and the privilege of receiving this award is an honor shared with the many people in the broadcasting, production/distribution, and motion picture industries who have worked with us throughout this process. I would like to take this opportunity to renew my commitment to evolving the content experience through shared and collaborative co-creation so that we can continue to create and bring more excitement to the world.
