About SS-00259 for General Use

The SS-00259 for General Use is general use version of the Sony Technical Standard "MANAGEMENT REGULATIONS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT-RELATED SUBSTANCES TO BE CONTROLLED WHICH ARE INCLUDED IN PARTS AND MATERIALS", which is exclusively available for our business partners.

The SS-00259 defines “Controlled Substances” that, in our judgment, have a significant impact on the global environment and may harm human health. The purpose is to protect the global environment and reduce the impact on the ecosystem by clarifying the substances to be immediately banned, substances to be phased out, and exempted uses, and by preventing their inclusion in Sony products and managing their reduction status.

Sony will comply with all laws and regulations prohibiting or restricting the use of substances applicable in countries and regions where Sony sells its products that may not be explicitly stated in the SS-00259.
