Natural materials enhancing the value of fibers

Using Triporous in fibers add functions to apparel products.
Sony will continue with the research and development of Triporous
as well as business development in the textile and apparel industries in and out of Japan with our partners.
The apparel products utilizing Triporous are branded with the "Triporous" trademark.

Triporous™: Fiber characteristics

Deodorizing effect

Triporous has a strong deodorizing effect on three major components of sweat odor: ammonia, acetic acid, and isovaleric acid.
The small pores of Triporous quickly adsorb those odor molecules.

Deodorizing effect (on ammonia) compared to conventional deodorant fiber

Antibacterial effect

Triporous has an antibacterial effect against Moraxella and Staphylococcus aureus, which cause odor when fabric is not dried properly.
The large pores of Triporous suppress the growth of these bacteria on the surface of textile.

Antibacterial effect (on Moraxella) compared to cotton fiber

Antiviral effect

Triporous has an antiviral effect against some enveloped viruses.
The large pores of Triporous absorb droplets and reduce virus concentrations on the fiber surface.

Washing Durability

Deodorizing and antibacterial performances are maintained after washing.
